Cleaning Tips

Here are some handy cleaning tips and advice to help with home cleaning. I will be adding to this list, when I hear of great new cleaning hacks and tips I will share them with you.

Clean BathroomBathroom:

For water marks on glass shower  try cutting a lemon in half and rub on water stains, rinse off.

Clean Bathroom Grout – try using an old toothbrush in between tiles, this is better than a stiff bristle scrubbing brush as it gets in the gaps and shouldn’t dislodge any grout. Try one of the following solutions with your brush.

For mild cleaning use dishwashing liquid in hot water.

For heavier stains try a natural paste made from mixing baking soda with a little water to make a paste, scrub into the area then rinse/scrub off.

Always polish your bathroom taps, I use Jif and give the taps a once-over while cleaning the sink and bath.

Clean inside your fridge with a solution of 2 tablespoons of baking soda dissolved in a litre of hot water. Wipe the interior of the fridge and rinse with a clean damp cloth. Baking soda is not toxic and removes odours.

You can use this solution to clean the fridge shelves and drawers too, best to remove them and leave on the bench at room temperature to let them warm up before using hot water on them.

Cleaning your glass ceramic or induction cooktop – Use 1 part of baking soda mixed well with two parts of warm water. Apply to your cooktop with a soft sponge Leave for about 20 minutes then wipe with a soft damp sponge to remove all the baking soda paste. Wipe over again with a clean cloth or sponge.
